Niels Verbaan is the Director of Technical Services (Hydrometallurgy), Metallurgy, and Consulting at SGS. He has over 20 years of experience in the mineral industry, with a master’s degree in mining engineering (major in raw materials processing, Delft University, The Netherlands) and hydrometallurgy (McGill University).
Additionally, Niels has authored or co-authored well over 40 technical publications and two patents related to processing critical materials. He has chaired biannual symposia on the Processing of Critical Materials since 2014 and is the current 3rd Vice-President for MetSoc, the Metallurgical and Material Society of CIM.
