I was honored to be invited to speak at the Saudi Green Initiative (SGI) Forum at the beginning of December 2023, which was held as part of COP 28—the United Nations climate change conference held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE)—where leaders from around the world gathered and focused on assessing progress towards meeting the goals of the Paris Agreement.
H.E. Michael W. Lodge, Secretary-General of the International Seabed Authority, and I participated in the SGI Talk, “The Race to Deep Sea Mining – Solution or Threat?” Tumi Makgabo, vice chairperson of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Women’s Empowerment, was our session moderator.
